Okay, this is actually old, and a repost from my CDJ and my LJ, but I thought I'd put it here anyway, since I'm collecting fic and meta here.

Just a word to the wise: While I'm posting it here, cause - particularly in the first part - this is more of a general personality profile, the latter parts are very definitely in regards to characterization at Blurred Lines, an AU first war Harry Potter RPG.

This is like five+ pages in word, so basically unless you're feeling masochistic or extremely curious, I don't recommend it.

All of the characters I play are complex characters, but I believe Severus Snape is probably the most complex character I play. This is possibly because we know so much about the character – and at the same time there are several mysteries – that of all of the characters I play on a regular basis, Severus is the one most defined by canon, and thus the one that I must consider most carefully when putting into a game or a fic, because he has to be presented in a way that rings true to his presentation in the book.

And gosh, that’s six pages of text and I didn’t even get to breaking down “The Prince’s Tale”, like I was going to. But I think that’s more than enough for today. And it’s in a very specific organized form for me to read over again and internalize on for a bit.

And only for Severus Snape. There is no other character I would write this much detail on.

Okay, maybe Charlie, but there's not as much text to analyze there...

Narcissa's hair aside, the WB set department seems to have done well. Particularly, they seem to have gotten Spinner's End precisely right. Look at all of the books!!
